I’m so excited to finally be sharing my newest design project: copywriter branding for Katie Mitchell! When Katie first reached out to me, I knew it was going to be a fun project to work on. We clicked instantly and bonded over our shared love of Disney. Her vision was clear from the start and she and I both agreed that adding a little touch of magic to her brand would set her apart from others in her field.

Pulling inspiration from Disney while keeping it classic and simple, I was able to craft a brand that reflected her core values: warmth, friendliness and above all, imagination (we have that in common too!). Katie loves the works of Claire Keane, especially those of Rapunzel. So to add warmth to her copywriter branding, I suggested a color palette of violet hues and golden accents taken directly from one of Keane’s most popular works to achieve a professional yet inviting tone.

Katie is a creative writer. She specializes in imaginative copywriting, SEO services and content creation. During one of our talks, she told me that if a Disney princesses were to hire a writer to help them with their businesses, she would be writing the copy for Rapunzel’s art studio, Cinderella’s etiquette academy, Belle’s author page, or Jasmine’s women’s retreats… how cute is that? If there was a client/designer match made in heaven, it would be us.

Because of how fun and charming her personality is, I really wanted to inject as much magic and imagination as I could, plus, in order to attract the right client for her, the branding needed to be balanced between friendly and professional. I was able to pull some elements that I think work very well with her brand goals and tone. With a modern serif font as the base to create a friendly logotype and a subtle nod to Disney in the form of magical dust stars, we were able to pull off a playfully balanced logo. To finish it off I illustrated a very modern “quill” icon to represent her mad writing skills with a vintage, warm twist!
