I love Palm Springs… it’s halfway between Los Angeles (where I used to live) and Scottsdale (where I live now). So for a quick getaway and to get my Cali fix, a weekend in Palm Springs was just the ticket!
We always tend to stay at the Ace Hotel, but I have always been drawn to the Parker hotel. It has that old Hollywood style glamour with the right amount of quirkiness. It was designed by Jonathan Adler which is why it has that eccentric vibe. From the marquee typography sign, to the mix of eclectic textures, it is a graphic designer’s playground!

It is best known on the Instagram world as that hotel with the giant orange door with the mid-century textured wall. We went to grab drinks in the afternoon and stopped to snap a few pictures. I had this blue polkadot jumpsuit that I had been dying to wear and I felt like it would just go really well with the vibe of the hotel. I mean the contrast with that orange door? Again… it’s soooo graphic-designy.

I love to play with color blocking, my style being fairly simple and minimal and sometimes I like to match my outfits and style to my environment. Not to mention I’m a sucker for a good polka dot style. The effect of the small polka dots against that orange back drop had me swooning. I really do love a good graphic pop.
In another note… It’s been really empowering to step outside my comfort zone and do styled posts. I never considered myself a fashionable person but I have always been a closeted fashionista… in a minimal way haha. Meaning, that I always wanted to explore my creativity in my style and clothes. So I hope you guys love these posts as much as I like to create them!

Should I keep the styled outfits post coming? Maybe not polka dots next time ????
